StopHungerLogo_small2.jpg     Our mission is to provide FREE food and supplemental meals to the poor, needy and homeless people in South Florida. On a monthly basis, we feed over 27,000 low-income families and individuals in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Along with over seventy (70) registered distributors, which consist of churches, other non-profit organizations and homeless shelters like Camillus House and Miami Rescue Mission, we provide over 500,000 meals per month.

     Together with many of our sponsors, we make a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of people every year, and continuously strive to do better each day. Stop Hunger, Inc., can give you the opportunity to contribute to satisfying the basic human need, such as food and well being, in your community.
 

Blankets and Cots for the Homeless
     Stop Hunger distributes military blankets and cots. Generally, 30,000 blankets are stocked for emergency distribution.blanket2.jpg



Ongoing Assistance Referrals

     Low-income individuals are referred to Stop Hunger by Police and Fire Departments, Channel 10’s Neighbors For Neighbors, County, City and State Agencies, approved private agencies, religious organizations, schools and hospitals.

 

Who is Eligible?

     Stop Hunger provides supplemental meals to low-income individuals on a monthly basis. Anyone who has low-income can call Stop Hunger on the first Monday of every month, starting at 9am, to receive an appointment. Appointments are only given by phone and approx. 100-180 are given each month. When the applicant comes to the appointment, he/she is interviewed to determine eligibility. Once approved, the individual may receive supplemental meals at Stop Hunger or at one of the nearest affiliated agency/church.
