ART FOR ARTHRITIS EVENTwas held March 13, 2010. Susan was asked to be one of 8 participating local artist pared with a child who has juvenille arthritis. The event was a success and we look forward to participating in it again next year! And we plan to continue to work with Merrill throughout the year.
Merrill (age 4) and Susan created 2 pieces of artwork, the yellow one (4 ft x 4 ft) for the auction, the pink one (14" x 18") for the silent auction. Susan was asked to donate a piece for the silent auction as well. She donated a new Lavender Angel Fresco piece painted just for this event.
Meet up with THE KNIT WITS for an afternoon of fun! Bring your own knitting, crochet, quilt or craft project to work on. Many handmade service projects are available to make as well. Opportunity for women of all ages to get together for a fun afternoon. Group makes service projects such as: helmet hats for soldiers, lap robes for VA hospitals, hats for homeless veterans, hats for preemies, receiving blankets and hats for newborns, IV writstlet covers, soft knit hats and polyester and fleece turbins for cancer patients.
Contact us to donate your knitted helmet hats and lap robes distributed by Kansas Soldier Resource Program and Flores Del Sol DAR Chapter to our military. - we also collect travel/trial size items for "ditty bags" for VA patients. These items are: toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, shampoo, lotions. No mouthwash or colognes please.

PAINTING DECORATIVE HOME ACCENTS
This is a 2 hr weekly class, meets for 4 weeks, $195 includes most materials. Students will paint on various decorative home accent objects using acrylics, metallics, crackles and glazes. Students will have several finished items upon completion of class.
DECOUPAGE FOR YOUR HOME This is a 2 hr weekly class, meets for 4 weeks. $195 per person includes most materials. Projects will be a variety of things. If you have something YOU wish to bring to decoupage on that is wonderful. From recipe boxes to waste baskets, kleenex box covers, picture frames, etc. Students will have several finished projects upon completion of class.
"Glaze & Stencil Techniques". $195 per student - includes all materials. It is a full day workshop from 10 am - 3 pm! Students will learn glazing techniques on paint and textures, as well as how to use stencils. Students will do 6 - 8 boards. This workshop is our most popular class/private instruction.
Art instruction is available in fine art and faux/specialty finishes year-round. Classes, workshops and private instruction. Everything from oil painting, acrylics, watercolor, collage/decoupage, fabric painting, etc to wonderful faux finishes like glazing, metallics, textures, furniture finishes: painting, distressing, decorative painting; lime paints and plasters, frescoes, portuguese tile, exotics, and much more. We use top of the line professional products including: Jo Sonja, Plaid, Perfetto Blue Pearl metallic paints, mica powders and crackles, Proceed System, Totem Coatings, and many more. We are always searching for new and unique products to incorporate in our finishes.

"Wall Textures" This is a 4 half-day workshop $295 per student, meets weekly - includes all materials. Class will focus on transparent, various stone finishes and other new textures, and work with various materials on the market.
"Metallic Techniques" This is a 4 half-day workshop $295 per student, meets weekly - includes all materials. Class will focus on metallic glazes, paints, mica powders, metallic textures and more.
"Crackle Finishes" This is a 4 half-day workshop $295 per student, meets weekly - includes all materials. Class will focus on various different crackles for use on furniture, woodwork, doors, artwork ,etc.
"Historic Lime Fresco, Portuguese Tile & Egg Tempera Class" - 4 day workshop. $595 per student Students work with lime plasters, lime paint and egg tempera. Multiple steps involved and drying time. Class can be done in 4 consecutive days or 2 weekends. Price includes all materials. This is an advanced level workshop.

Private Instruction in glazing, stencils, lime paints and plasters, marbles, metallics, textures, exotics, crackles, as well as furniture techniques AND FRESCO...ANY TECHNIQUE is available at any time. Private instruction rates start at $195 per day but varies depending on finish being taught. High-end finishes instruction may run higher depending on products and materials used. TRAVEL TEACHING FOR GROUPS OF ALL AGES:
Art classes and art camps available for youth in all mediums. Special in-service day workshops year-round for kids. Programs available for scout troops, church groups, - even birthday parties! Have your school contact us about doing latch-key programs!
